You're applying to Thundercat Tattoo Studio for a consultation or a session. These terms explain how the relationship works, what you're agreeing to, and what to expect — written to be read, not buried.
A deposit secures your session — £100 for tattoos up to 3 hours, £200 for larger pieces. It comes off your final price, not an extra charge. Non-refundable, but you can move your date once, free, with 72+ hours' notice.
Thundercat Tattoo Studio is a trading name of Thundercat Promotions Limited (Company No. 09260031), registered at 12 Goose Gate, Nottingham, NG1 1FF. We operate the booking platform, the marketing, the studio premises, the aftercare system, and the brand. Throughout these terms we're called "the Studio" or "we."
The tattoo artist who applies your tattoo is a self-employed professional who works with clients at our studio. Throughout these terms they're called "the Artist."

Applying is free and doesn't commit you to booking. We read every application and aim to reply the same day during studio hours. If we invite you to a consultation, it's free (typically 30–45 minutes, in-studio or by video).
We are not obliged to accept every application. We may decline if the piece isn't right for the Studio, the Artist isn't the right match, or for any other reasonable reason. If we decline, your application data is handled per our Privacy Notice.
To confirm a booked session we take a deposit of £100 for tattoos that take up to 3 hours, or £200 for larger pieces. The exact figure is agreed at booking and confirmed in writing. The deposit is part of your total session fee, not an extra charge — the balance is paid on the day, before the session starts. Until the deposit is paid, a date is held provisionally for 48 hours and then released.
When you book, your Artist reserves a block of time specifically for you and turns other work away. The deposit secures that reserved time. For that reason it is non-refundable if you cancel or fail to attend — but always read this alongside our mitigation promise (4.5) and your statutory rights (4.6), which we honour in full.
You can cancel at any time. The deposit is not refunded (subject to 4.5 and 4.6) because the reserved time has already been taken out of the Artist's diary.
We don't keep more than we lose. A deposit is only ever a small part of the session price — it reflects the Artist's reserved time, not a penalty. If you cancel or forfeit and we manage to fill your slot with another booking, we'll refund the part of your deposit we recover.
Because you book online, you have a 14-day cooling-off period under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, starting the day after your booking is confirmed. If you ask us to begin during those 14 days — for example by booking and attending a consultation, or by having your Artist start your design — you agree we can begin, and you understand that once the service is fully performed you lose the right to cancel, and that if you cancel part-way we may keep an amount in proportion to what we've already done. Nothing in these terms affects your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 if our service falls short of reasonable care and skill.
If we or your Artist cancel or need to move your session for any reason within our control (illness, emergency, studio closure, scheduling), we will offer you a full refund of the deposit or a reschedule at a time that works for you, with no new deposit. You choose.
If you don't turn up and haven't told us in advance, the deposit is forfeited, you may not be offered another booking, and if your Artist has prepared a custom design we reserve the right to charge for their design time at our standard rate.
We reserve the right to postpone a session, with the deposit forfeited, if you arrive under the influence of alcohol or non-medical drugs; you are under 18 and cannot produce valid ID; you disclose a medical condition that makes it unsafe to proceed; or you arrive more than 30 minutes late (we'll reschedule once as a grace).
| Scenario | Deposit | New deposit to rebook? |
|---|---|---|
| You reschedule, 72+ hours' notice, 1st time | Moves to new date | No |
| You reschedule a 2nd time, or with <72 hours' notice | Forfeited (less anything we recover — 4.5) | Yes |
| You cancel entirely | Forfeited (less anything we recover — 4.5) | — |
| No-show | Forfeited | — |
| You arrive impaired / under 18 / 30+ min late | Forfeited | — |
| We or your Artist cancel | Full refund OR moved | No |

Before any tattoo work begins you'll complete and sign our Tattoo Consent & Medical Questionnaire, which covers your relevant medical history, your informed consent to the tattoo, your photography preferences (opt-in — you can say no), and acknowledgement of aftercare. Your medical information is special-category data and is handled strictly per our Privacy Notice.
Deposits are collected at booking; the remaining balance is collected on the day, before the session starts. We accept card payment and Klarna Pay in 3 (interest-free, no fees, subject to Klarna's approval), available on half-day and full-day sessions. Payments are processed securely by our payment provider.
Want cover for longer? Add our 12-Month Touch-Up and we'll keep your piece looking its best with touch-ups any time within a year of your session.
You'll receive our 7-day automated aftercare messages from the day of your session, covering healing, dos and don'ts, and how to reach us. For any healing concern, contact us straight away on 07988 492119 or hello@thundercattattoostudio.com — most concerns resolve with our guidance; occasionally a touch-up or medical review is needed.
If something isn't right, tell us early — hello@thundercattattoostudio.com, or speak to the Studio on the day. We respond to written complaints within 5 working days and aim to resolve them within 30 days where reasonably possible, usually through a free touch-up, a credit against a future booking, or a partial refund where warranted. Full refunds after a completed tattoo are rare, because the service has been delivered.
We commit to mediation in good faith (Alternative Dispute Resolution) before any court action. If we can't resolve things, you can also approach your local Trading Standards (via the Citizens Advice consumer helpline), the ICO (for data matters), or Nottingham City Council (for licence or hygiene matters).
Our Privacy Notice explains what data we collect, how we use it, your rights, and how long we keep it.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited by law. Subject to that, our total liability to you in connection with any session is limited to the fee paid for that session.
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version always lives at this page. If you've applied in the last 12 months, we'll notify you of material changes by email.
These terms are governed by the law of England & Wales, and you and we submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English & Welsh courts.
By ticking the box on the application form, you confirm that you are 18 or over; that you've read and accepted these terms; and that you've read, or will read, our Privacy Notice.
